6.14.04 - Well, here we are months later . . . and we never did get this resolved. The best I can do is forward this URL to others who have been burned in the hopes that if ebay gets enough communication from people like us, maybe they will get the point. I did notice that since the inception of our little group, Red Cap has started hiding the bidder's identities so they can not be warned. Can they be any more fradulent?

Our Case at Square Trade

Here is our experience: http://www.cjacks.com/redcrap/experience.htm

If you look at the message boards, you will see the support group we have FORMED because of how bad Red Cap Motors is.

We have contacted Red Cap, Ebay, Consumer Affairs and now you. We hope somehwere along the line some sort of action will be taken against them and they will not be able to sell on Ebay any more. It is also our hope to get our money back. He had promised to pay us for repairs on the vehicle to get it to match how it was described in the ad. At this point, we have spent more on repairs than the actual vehicle itself. I could see if this was an isolated incident or if he made good like he said he would, but he will not return our calls or emails and he ignores my faxes. We even sent him a registered letter which he did not sign for.

His Response:

paul bogon's response:
I sent it as it was described in the bid listing.
I did not threaten to post negative feedback.

Further Details About the Problem:

when they left here they put $2 worth of gas in the truck and started back home about 45 min later they called up and said the motor quit it wont start so i paid to have it towed back ($200) when i came in the next day i put a couple of dollars in the truck and it started right up. there is nothing wrong with this teruck i personaly drove this truck for about 2000 miles before this truck was put up on ebay truck is in great shape as for paying for repairs i never said i would we sell everything as is as youi can see in my auction.

paul bogon's offered solutions:

I would agree not to post negative feedback.

Further Details About the Solution:
i am already out $200 for towing because they thaught they could get home with $2 worth of gas when it would usualy cost $20 in gas not my falt they did not bring enough money for gas.

My Response to his response:

I have heard no response from you, so AGAIN: Can you prove you drove 2000 miles without incident? We drove it from Red Cap Motors to a Perkins in Phillipsburg NJ and nearly all the oil leaked out! The vents didn't work, the a/c didn't work, cassette player was gutted. Ad says "TRUCK RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT; MOTOR AND TRANS IS A-OK." Look at our invoices. The truck did not run a-ok! An "excellent" tranmission and engine would not leak!

The steering was "good?" The ball joint was practically falling off. The two "good" front tires did not pass inspection. The "good" electronical system was all unplugged.

There was a mountain of other issues. And, you did say you'd pay for repairs and "make it right."

As per the "as-is" the truck was not as described. As-Is = As-Described. If this was not true, then you could misrepresent all the time *which you do* and then pull an As-Is punk card!

The ad was NOT accurate. A certified mechanic compared the "AS-IS" ad to what the truck was like and, um, it was not as described.

Look on the site. See the repairs we paid for. Compare the ad to the invoices.

STAND BY YOUR PRODUCT - like you promised and continually promise in all of your feedback responses.

We aren't the only ones to have been lied to and who bought junk from Red Cap Motors.
